Div 1: Round 15 vs Eastern raiders

Bring on the finals!! For anyone who missed this Saturday's game, you missed an absolute ripper! This was the best game I have seen this team play all season! The win also meant that we clinched top spot on the ladder - what a time to hit peak form!!

We played against Raiders, who were top of the ladder before this weekend. Raiders have been in first place for most of the season, but it seems that we have the wood on them, as they are 0 for 3 against us so far (always a nice feeling!).

Div 1: Round 11 vs Brandon Park

Our first game back after the Christmas break was against Brandon Park. The girls were able to continue their good form from last year, winning the game 7-4. We welcomed back Reimi after her trip back home to Japan, and unfortunately said goodbye to Olivia for the season as she will be on a school camp for the rest of term 1.

A Grade vs Glen Waverley

Falcons return to the winners list.

Falcons immediately returned to the winners list on Saturday, defeating Glen Waverley 4-1 to maintain our strong showing against them over the last two seasons.

A Grade: Ausport Classic Round 2 vs Glen Eira (at Keilor Park)

In very difficult conditions, with a strong wind blowing out to right-centre, Falcons overcame a spirited Glen Eira 8-2 at Keilor Park in the Ausport Classic.

Sharni backed up her strong performance the day before to limit the Glen Eira hitters to 4 scattered hits and 2 earned runs, while throwing 10 strike outs. Once again, Sharni threw to 25 batters and continues to post numbers that show her to be one of the best going around in Victoria right now. She continues to be very efficient and completed 14 innings over the weekend without conceding a single walk.

A Grade: Round 10 vs Syndal

Falcons win 3 - 2 in a tight game.

Despite the heat, Falcons remained in charge for the whole game with some strong hitting and many "loud outs".

Once again, Sharni Arthur controlled the tempo of the game and kept all of the Syndal hitters in check. Across 7 completed innings she threw to 25 batters (only 4 over the minimum for a perfect game), allowing 5 hits and no walks with 3 strike outs. The two runs scored by Syndal were both unearned after a couple of late innings (the 7th) errors.

Div 1: Round 10 vs Eastern Raiders

Wow, what a difference a week make!! Whilst we were disappointing last week, this Saturday the girls displayed a very impressive team performance against Eastern Raiders. We last week failed to knock off the team currently in second place on the ladder, and instead this week we beat the top team for the second time!!

A Grade: Round 9 vs Glen Eira

Falcons win 3 - 0 in a game always in control.

Falcons extended their unbeaten run to 9 matches with a 3 - 0 win over Glen Eira. In a game that never really reached great heights, Falcons held control of this match from the first innings by scoring a run to take a 1 - 0 lead.

Again Falcons showed that fast softball is good softball, the game was finished in 70 minutes (6 and a half innings). We are a very efficient team that gets to job done.

Div 1: Round 9 vs Glen Waverley

On Saturday our girls faced off against Glen Waverley in a match that would determine 2nd position on the ladder (for the moment anyway!). We went into the game only 2 points behind Glen Waverley, and were geared up ready to overtake them.

Unfortunately things didn't quite go according to plan. Our batting seemed to desert us until about the third inning and not everything went our way in the field. Whilst there are some things for us to work on that have come out of this game, it was good that there were some positives that should be recognised as well.

A Grade: Ausport Classic Round 1 at Knox

Ausport Classic Game 1 vs. Dandenong; Falcons Cruise to 23-0 in 3 innings.

In one of those games that is very hard to measure, Falcons hitters were scintillating in scoring 23 runs for the game to force the "mercy rule" in three innings.

While it must be said that Dandenong did not provide the strongest opposition, it is more a game to ensure we stayed focused and made sure we got the job done in a very efficient way.
