B Res: Round 18 vs Monash Magic

Wow! What an AWESOME display!! You would never have guessed with this scoreline just how horrible and wet the weather was!

Julie did a good job on the plate, generally keeping pretty good control in the wet weather. She was able to shut down the opposition, giving up only 2 hits (which both fell in between the infield and outfield) and 2 walks with 2 strikeouts. In contrast to the 27 at bats out team had in only 3 innings, Julie managed to be faced with only 12 batters.

Div 2: Round 2 vs Glen Waverley

Although, this week's result didn't reflect the hitting storm our team brought on against the other side, the girls did an outstanding job in the batting box. Clocking seven hits in total didn't quite pay enough dividends in the end but I must say, even though I wasn't there to see it with my own eyes, I am very proud of the girls who I could hear from waaaaay over in A grade warm-up screaming and cheering each other on AND hitting like absolute champions! You had me repeatedly (and proudly) commenting - "Yep - those are the LOUD girls Nickie and I coach!"

B Res: Round 2 vs Syndal

I think the saying for this week is "Isn't it nice when everything just works?!" The girls just really clicked together this week, and the team played a fantastic game. If we can maintain this standard for the season, we'll be giving things a fair shake.

The batting performance from the team was excellent with every single player crossing home plate at least once. Reimi started us off with a fantastic running bunt to get on base. Some aggressive base running and a good hit to rightfield from Lauren brought her home to get us started on the scoreboard.

T-Ball Match Report: Round 2 vs. Glen Heights.

This week we joined forces with girls from the Falcons Primary B team; Eleanor, Matilda and Masie Dowd, as well as some boys and girls from Northvale. We had a fantastic game with everyone having a turn at positions that were different to usual, including our Dads who helped coach and scored the game. Bridget and Tate were stars at bat this week, though the highlight would have to be our triple play in the last innings!

Div 2: Round 1 vs Brandon Park

What an awesome start to the season. All I can say is WOO-HOO!!! The runs started in the first inning and just kept on coming! Everyone was eager to get bat on ball for game one of the season and stepped up swinging the bat hard from the first turn at bat. Every player got on base at least once, with Maddy, Leah and Emira getting on base three times each!

T-Ball Match Report: Round 1 vs. Glen Waverley Gold.

Two Falcons girls, Bridget Roache and Tate Humphries joined with the Northvale team to create a mixed team for this season. Although both girls are in their first season they played a fantastic game both in the infield and outfield. Tate played a great game at 2nd base assisting in the field to multiple outs. While Bridget had a great batting game scoring 2 runs.

B Res: Round 1 vs Glen Waverley

Whilst the scoreline may not reflect it, this was actually quite a good game. Considering there were a number of new faces to the line up for this year (including mine!), and a number of players returning to the club after a break, this group of girls put on a great team performance. Julie, our new pitching recruit, threw a great game (despite what the ump may have thought!), and did really well to stick with it in a tough situation.

Div 1: Round 1 vs Glen Waverley

Again this week, we showed that our potential is building, but we are still unfortunately having trouble getting everything to click together.

There was some good batting, with outfield shots coming from Stacey, Emira, Sam and Emily. The only problem was that these good hits were scattered over 3 innings. Ashleigh also put down a good bunt to move Stacey into scoring position, which was our one run for the match.

A Grade: Grand Final vs Eastern Raiders

Finals:
Grand Final

Raiders d. Falcons in 2005 Grand Final.

Well, what can you say? Despite posting the best record of any team during the regular season and early finals, Falcons were beaten in the Grand Final by a very committed Raiders team.

In a game that did not do justice to the 2005 Falcons, we just never got going.

Ilsa battled all day, but didn't dominate the way she has in past games. Our hitting never got going (one hit for the game, to Ilsa) and credit must be given to the opposition for the way we were shut down and out of this game.

Semi Final

Falcons advance to Grand Final.

On a day when the weather seemed set to continue to ruin the day as it had for most of the earlier games, Falcons and Raiders faced off once again in an important game.
