Div 2: Round 4 vs Northvale

Well done girls! Another fantastic win for the Falcons with flashes of brilliance displayed throughout the game, tight defence and another amazing performance in the batters box, not to mention every player getting safe on base at least once!

Everyone turned it up this week after the huge batting training session last Wednesday and the results shone through on game day with a huge 10 hits in total. We began the game with Maddy, Leah, Christine and Elysia all hitting doubles in the first innings and the bats kept on firing throughout the day. The highlight of the day was Elysia's MASSIVE GRAND SLAM to rightfield in her debut game for the season, which earned her a standing ovation from the crowd! What a hit! What a champion! Another special mention should go to our lead-off Stacey, who had 3 solid shots although unfortunately the first 2 went straight into the gloves of the fielders…unlucky!

Once again trusty Sam did a great job at the pitchers plate giving away only 2 hits for the game. Stacey was awesome behind the plate keeping the other team honest on bases and throwing 2 outs from attempted steals. The Ierfonator starred at shortstop, taking part in 4 outs for the game.

Overall, the whole team worked superb together with 3 up 3 down in 2 innings! The fielding highlight was definitely the TRIPLE PLAY in the second innings - Maddy picked up a great catch then threw the ball to Abby at first base to catch a runner off guard for the 2nd out. Christina was fantastic covering second base which gave Abby a chance to catch another runner off guard and top off the amazing play with a third out.

Elysia and Christina made an outstanding debut on Saturday for div 2, both doing an amazing job. Once again thankyou to the girls who helped us out from div 3, Wynona and Emily both did us proud with their efforts.

The girls have a well deserved rest this week with a scheduled bye but we'll see you all at training for another jam packed session!
